We are taking great strides to better meet the diverse needs of our Middle School Students. The Exploratory Program gives students the opportunity to “explore” areas of interest and concern.  A variety of topics, skills and content fields are presented without requiring mastery from the student. Thus providing an interesting retreat from normal core curriculum and school routine.

The Exploratory Program will be offered on each noon dismissal through-out the school year.  Each time it is offered, students will have the opportunity to take two 90-minute courses.  Each student, with the guidance of his/her parent or guardian, will rank order his/her choices.

There will be a $25.00 fee to cover the materials for the Exploratory Program.  There may be an additional cost for the field trip exploratories. 

¨ Lets Skate– Take a field trip to Mount Trashmore to the skateboard ramp.  This is for experienced skaters— safety equipment required.

¨ Basic Gardening– Learn gardening techniques while working with an experienced gardener to beautify our school grounds.

¨ Chess Anyone? - If you have never played chess, now is your chance to learn the basic moves of the chess pieces and learn the fundamentals of play.  If you are a chess player come and show us some of your best “moves”.

¨ Future Surgeons– Work to develop precision carving skills on your own Halloween pumpkin.  Carving tools and design stencils will be provided.  Bring your own pumpkin.

¨ Babysitting for Fun & Profit-  Do you like spending time with younger children?  Do you want to earn some extra $$?  Take this course and pick up some great tips to get your babysitting business off the ground.  Learn what you need to know and what every parent wants in a responsible babysitter.

¨ Designer Bulletin Boards– Looking for that special “something” to brighten-up your room?  Join this class and create a one-of-kind bulletin board out of ceiling tiles.

¨ You’ll flip for these Flops– Be the talk of the beach or pool.  With your personalized flip flops.  You’ll use ribbons, buttons, and more to decorate your flip flops in colors that will accent your summer  wardrobe.

¨ Indoor-Outdoor Scavenger Hunt– Test your critical thinking skills with  a super challenging scavenger hunt.  The hunt will take time and logic.  Have fun as you explore Holy Trinity for clues and the ultimate prize!

¨ Boxes with Pizzazz– Take a boring box and paint it with pizzazz!  You will be provided with all of the necessary materials to paint your box.  You add you personal style and create a great keepsake.

¨ Aerobics & Fitness– A fun-filled session designed to teach general fitness principles, as well as engage participates in an aerobics class!  Class consists of warm-up, cardio segments, strength portion, and cool down stretching.  Wear your favorite workout gear!

¨ Memory Maker– Create your own unique mirror using souvenirs and mementos brought from home that reflect pieces of your life.

¨ What is Fun & Games?- Discover the answer to this Jeopardy question. Bring your competitive spirit and demonstrate your skills at selected board games.   Compete in a relaxed friendly atmosphere as individuals and team members.

¨ Yoga– Relax and gently stretch away your cares and find peace within.  Come rest, relax and enjoy.  Wear your favorite yoga attire.

¨ Tae Kwan Do– Explore the Korean style Martial Art that has been spreading everywhere.  Learn the fundamentals, including kicking, basic forms, rolling, breaking falls.

¨ Now That’s a Pizza– Pepperoni, fresh vegetables, homemade crust, hand grated cheese, and tasty sauce come together for a culinary delight, especially made by YOU!

¨ Tasty Treats with an Attitude– Show up with creativity and an appetite! Using various types of foods you’ll create seasonal surprises.

¨ Skin  and Nail Care– Join this class for a day of education and fun.  Explore the importance of proper skin care with emphasis on the face. Discover the art of make-up application that is not only subtle, but also age appropriate for middle school students.  Practice the art of nail care, too

¨ Heavenly Hors D’oeurves-Learn how to prepare delicious appetizers that are sure to impress your dinner guests!  Take the test yourself.  Sample your own creations at the end of the class and take some recipes to share with family and friends at your next party.

¨ Tennis Anyone?- Learn tennis basics.  Take a walk to the nearest courts and play a round or two.

¨ Come Watch the Whales– Take a leisurely ride and watch for whales– Spend the day aboard a boat to discover life under the sea and the world’s largest creatures.
