Rising Second Grade Students

· Miss Nelson is Missing by Harry Allard

· Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parrish

PROJECT GUIDELINES FOR EACH TITLE:

1. Miss Nelson is Missing – Literature Sequencing Bag

Decorate a lunch-size paper bag to look like the setting or

cover of the book. On index cards, describe the main events

in the story, then place the cards in the bag. We’ll trade bags

with a classmate and sequence the story.

2. Amelia Bedelia – Literature Mobile

Using a coat hanger create a mobile showing the main characters of the story. Be creative – use yarn for hair, wiggly eyes, fabric to dress them, etc. On the back of each character write a sentence or two describing the character.
