Project Guidelines: Please choose three of the following projects to go with the books that you select from the list.

  1. Create your own flashy fish using whatever materials you desire.  Make your creation interesting and unique!
  2.  Tropical Tree College: use tropical leaves attached, blue construction paper, brown paper, old magazines, glue, scissors, cornmeal and sand.
    • Cut out the leaves.  Fringe the edges by making cuts on the heavy black lines.  Fold each leaf along the dotted line.
    • Tear brown paper into pieces to make the tree trunk.
    • Glue the trunk, leaves and coconuts onto blue paper
    • Spread glue on coconuts.  Then press cornmeal on top of the glue so it sticks.  Shake off excess.
    • Use the same technique with the sand to create a beach.

Find letters of your name in a magazine and cut them out.  Glue letters in the correct order racing up the coconut tree!!

  1. Under The Sea Creation- use blue construction paper and sea animal stickers or cutouts.  Arrange sea animals all around on the paper.  Then squeeze some blue glitter glue to look like water ripples or waves.

  1. Go on a nature hunt of your own.  Take pictures and display them on a poster board or make a book all about your adventure.  Make sure to write captions under each photo explaining what you found.  Have fun!

  1. Awesome Aquarium- You will need two large paper plates, green Easter grass, blue plastic wrap, crayons, glue and scissors.  Draw several fish on the front of one of the paper plates next cut out the center of the other plate.  Glue the grass to look like seaweed.  Place a sheet of blue plastic wrap on top of the plate and use tape to secure it in place to the back of the plate.  Color the back of the paper plate rim.  Place plates front to front and staple together.

  1. Go to the beach with your family and build your own sandcastle and take photos.  Display them on a poster or construction paper and label:
