Holy Trinity School

The Educational Advantage for Your Child

Holy Trinity School takes great pride in our outstanding educational program.  With small class sizes, high quality instruction by certified educators, an emphasis on state-of-the-art technologies and challenging coursework, our focus has always been to prepare our graduates for a rigorous high school curriculum.

Holy Trinity School, as a private school, does not participate in the SOL testing familiar to most of you.  The SOLs are an in-state assessment used to compare Virginia’s Public Schools with each other.  We prefer to assess our students utilizing national tests in order to ready our pupils for the world beyond the borders of Virginia.

The Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Richmond take the CTB/TerraNova test developed by McGraw-Hill Company.  The TerraNova comprehensive test is used to measure student achievement in public schools throughout Tennessee, South Carolina, North Dakota, and by Department of Defense Schools around the globe.

The CTB/TerraNova tests are most like Stanford 9 Tests given in Virginia’s public schools during Grades 4 and 6 to measure student achievement versus the national average.

Although the tests are not the same, test results do allow a guidepost to compare student performance on a national scale.  Please note the National Average is 50.
